Learning Through Play
The Heaton Park View learning environments are designed to meet the needs of both children and families through specific goals and objectives. We focus on building from the strengths of each child, taking advantage of every teachable moment.
Our Tiny Lambs room is specifically for children aged up to 15 months. It is tailored to suit the individual routines and needs of young children.
The Tiny Lambs room is run and led by our parents and carers to ensure all individual routines from home are mirrored in the nursery, whilst staff support children's weaning process.
Children’s bottles and meals are provided at the times to suit their individual routines.
The Tiny Lamb children sleep in cots and Heaton Park View take pride in ensuring a home from home experience.
The Little Lambs room is specifically for children aged from 15 months to 2 years and is a spacious environment providing children who are learning to walk with the development space they require.
The room provides a safe place for children at a key transitional period in their development and the team work closely with parents ar carers to ensure smooth progress is made. Little Lambs have their own bathroom making toilet training (with parents' assistance) an easier task.
Children aged 2-3 years are cared for in the Busy Bee's room, with their own access to the exciting and challenging outdoor area.
Children can improve their personal, social and emotional development on the built-in stage in this room, perfect for showcasing little individual talents. Appropriate toys and equipment suited to the groups' ages and interests offer entertainment and learning opportunities.
The Wise Owls room has been specially designed to provide education for older children up to 8 years.
The focus in this room is to offer learning through play and pre-school education is the focus. We have a full-time Early Years teacher who provides structured education and targets activities to support each child's readiness for school.
All of Heaton Park View's children have access to our spectacular outdoor area which includes a race track, digging and planting areas, sand and bark pit and a reading garden situated in its own little quiet spot at the bottom of the garden. There is also access to Heaton Park - the second largest municipal park in Europe and it is right on our doorstep.
